Take the opportunity to walk through our very own beloved Miners Alley in Downtown Oroville after it becomes haunted just in time to be part of your month-long Halloween celebrations. Brave a gauntlet of scares and haunted house-style setpieces sure to make your whole family quake with fright and laughter! Enter on Miners Alley and Myers Street (1346 Myers), $5 at the door. Come downtown for the Frights & Lights Parade, hosted by the Oroville Show & Stroll, so the whole family can experience the best in local illuminated floats and glowing displays designed to light up the night.

- Five college students head to an abandoned cabin in the woods — only to unleash a demonic curse that turns them all into flesh‑eating horrors. Armed with a chainsaw, a boomstick, and a killer sense of humor, Ash must save the day… and the audience.

Join local Oroville historian Daniel Ballard for a night of mysterious tales ripped straight from Oroville’s haunted history. Beginning at the State Theater with the Revello Haunting, you’ll take a walking tour through the Disappearance of the Tomassos, Murder at the Palace Restaurant, before ending the evening in the basement of the Masonic Building. Arrive early to catch a short Scooby Doo screening at the theater! $14 per person via Eventbrite. - Victorian Mourning Tours | October 24, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, & 5:00 PM
Come experience what it was like to be a Victorian-era citizen in grief as the C.F. Lott Home guides take you on a journey through the rituals and traditions of death and mourning in the latter half of the 1800s. Downtown Oroville comes alive with a vibrant Day of the Dead celebration perfect for all ages. With completely free admission, everyone can enjoy a day to honor the spirits of ancestors and loved ones, Mexican culture, and the joy of life.
The opening ceremony and blessing kick off the event at 11:00 AM, and the rest of the day will feature ofrendas, live Mariachi and ballet performances, folklórico dancers and dancing lessons, a free kids corner, traditional piñatas, and more. There will also be plenty of delicious food, local artisan booths, vendors, plus a costume contest with categories for pets, kids, and adults!
