There are few better ways to bid farewell to the waning days of summer than with an excellent meal shared with friends, and all the more on a September evening surrounded by the storied charm of historic Downtown Oroville. Amid the 19-century architecture that calls to mind the area’s rich Gold Rush history, you’ll find the familiar sounds of the busy streets replaced by live music that carries through the air over the aroma of slow-braised meats, buttery herbs, and savory spices.

Step out of the everyday humdrum into a curated culinary journey designed to refresh body and soul.

From the Farm to Provence

This year, the Oroville Downtown Business Association presents a unique dining experience you won’t find anywhere else, where the rustic, elevated flavors of the French countryside are brought to our own backyard to celebrate the incredible bounty of our local farms and producers.

Instead of a traditional sit-down service, we invite you to explore four interactive culinary stations. Think of it as a guided tour of elevated rustic cuisine, where you choose your path, exploring each course at your leisure before returning to your table to savor the flavors and share stories with new friends and neighbors.

Menu Highlights:

  • First Tastes – Locally crafted baguette crostini with a savory olive tapenade and almond-crusted jumbo prawns.
  • Orchard Harvest – A vibrant salad of spinach, crisp apples, and goat cheese croquettes.
  • Classics – A rustic Provençal vegetable medley brings an authentic Ratatouille to life, while a rich, slow-braised Boeuf Bourguignon will be served over a decadent bed of creamy horseradish mashed potatoes. There will also be tender, bone-in chicken thighs braised in white wine, fresh herbs, and citrus, with garlic and onion haricots verts.

All tickets come with one free drink.

Our 2026 Chef: Trevor Smith

To lead this culinary expedition, Trevor Smith (owner of Big Red’s BBQ and local favorite ice cream shop Unicone) brings nearly 20 years of high-end restaurant experience to the downtown table. Trevor has worked in prestigious Sacramento kitchens like Bistro La Petite France, understanding the precision of classical French cuisine while cooking with the heart of a Butte County native.

A Community Affair

While the food will be unforgettable, the heart of our annual gathering is always community. This is a fundraising event for the Community Christmas Tree Lighting, which ensures that our local kids can enjoy free photos with Santa and a festive kickoff to the season in one of the area’s most beloved events.

Between courses, you’ll enjoy live music, mingle with neighbors, and enter our raffle for a chance to win some fantastic prizes and local goods. It’s a night designed to bring us together, where we can share a table while supporting and celebrating Oroville.
