Street parking is plentiful and provided at no charge. There’s no need to rummage for coins or a credit card, or to download yet another app. On event days like a First Friday, farmer’s market, or community concert, where street parking might be a little less plentiful, there are also two large parking lots on either side of Downtown Oroville, both of which are free and placed immediately across from top-notch destinations like Union Coffee Club and Provisions.
No matter where you make your first stop, you’re never far from the many places in Downtown Oroville you’ve planned to visit.
The City of Gold At Your Fingertips
Aside from the historic splendors of Downtown Oroville itself, it’s also close to everything else you’ll want to see in town. It’s only a ten-minute drive from Lake Oroville, the Oroville Dam, and Riverbend Park, and far less from the fish hatchery and the Feather River Nature Center.
Wherever you end up, you’ll still be close to the best in dining, shopping, and entertainment. Take in the views from the nation’s tallest dam (43.6 feet taller than the Hoover Dam itself!), or work up an appetite exploring Table Mountain, and it’s just a short jaunt for lunch or an evening meal at one of Downtown Oroville’s eateries.
If your visit falls on the right day, you might even be able to catch live music with your meal at the Union stage.
Lodging is close by, and it’s easy to head from the city proper to a leisurely evening on the lake, or to head from a day of fishing and boating to enjoy some of Downtown Oroville’s night life.
